Risk disclosure.
Understand what you are exposing before you launch, trade, bridge or pay through ROOTS. You can lose the full amount you commit.
Price, execution and liquidity
Community tokens can become worthless. Thin pools, concentrated holdings, rapid selling, slippage and transaction ordering can make the execution price very different from an earlier quote. A displayed market cap is not money available for withdrawal. Rewards, burns and liquidity additions do not guarantee demand or prevent losses.
The shared ROOTS/wXMR pool supports routes used by multiple coins; it does not collateralise every coin. Burned LP tokens provide no individual redemption entitlement. Retired burn-redemption reserves are closed, and burning a community token does not create a right to a refund.
Programs, permissions and automated wallets
Contracts, browser code, indexers, proving software, keepers and relayers can contain defects or be compromised. Failed or delayed automation can interrupt fee collection, rewards, trading or recovery. Dedicated operational wallets hold limited funds, but their server-held keys still create a compromise risk.
The principal program is upgradeable under its operator-controlled authority. A malicious or compromised authority could change program behaviour. The private vault has a separate Squads authority; that arrangement does not apply automatically to the principal program or all services. Pauses and budgets do not remove upgrade or operational risk.
wXMR and external providers
wXMR depends on its bridge provider and the availability of underlying Monero redemptions. A provider failure, shortfall, exploit, freeze or prolonged outage could delay redemption or reduce the token's value. Native XMR and wXMR are different assets on different networks.
Trading and launches also rely on Solana, pump.fun, PumpSwap, Raydium LaunchLab and, for some routes, Jupiter and other infrastructure. External changes to fees, supported assets, APIs or transaction rules can make a feature unavailable. ROOTS cannot force an external provider to execute, release or refund a transfer.
Transfer and payment mistakes
A wrong network, destination, memo or expired quote can result in loss. Check the full address against the current instructions. Do not trust look-alike addresses in transfer history. Bridge withdrawals and General Fund payouts can wait for minimum amounts, confirmations or provider processing. An escrow balance is not proof that native XMR has arrived.
Gift cards and other ROOTS Pay products may have country, currency, expiry or redemption restrictions. A confirmed payment does not guarantee immediate delivery; supplier support and refund conditions may apply.
Privacy and recovery
Solana addresses, token transfers and transaction timing are public. Holding or trading wXMR does not inherit Monero's privacy. Wallet connections, RPC providers, bridges and fulfilment providers can observe additional metadata. A private vault limits particular onchain disclosures; it does not promise universal anonymity or hide every surrounding transaction.
Lost secrets or an unusable backup can permanently prevent access to funds or notes. Malware, phishing, malicious extensions and exposed screenshots can defeat cryptographic protection. Keep encrypted backups and recovery information safely, and test recovery without disclosing secrets.
Check evidence, not promises
Prices, eligibility estimates, snapshots and payment statuses can be delayed or incomplete. Verify the relevant transaction and destination. Historical results do not promise future results. Make your own decisions, obtain appropriate independent advice where needed, and read the terms of use.
